Our Vision

The vision this firm embraces is to provide a service that goes beyond preparation of a tax return or a financial statement. We want to provide you with the information to make decisions so that we can predict and prepare for the tax effect of the decision. We want to assist and advise you with your financial record keeping. Our Team

Helen V. Wiley, CPA (512) 756-1000

Helen Wiley is a CPA with over 25 years of experience in the accounting industry. Helen graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BBA and a MPA in 1988. After graduation, her career began in San Antonio, Texas with Arthur Young which merged to the firm of Ernst & Young. While at Ernst & Young she was involved in the audit and entrepreneurial services division which exposed her to a wide range or large and small businesses varying from the financial services sector to retail and non-profits. Upon relocating to Austin, Helen worked with a mid-size local accounting firm performing audits. This was followed by a controller position in a high-tech manufacturing company, 1st Tech, which was purchased by Tanisys, Inc. and subsequently taken public on the NASDAQ exchange. After moving to Burnet County, she worked for Dixon Ticonderoga for a year before they sold their location in 1999. At that time she worked for several small local CPA firms preparing taxes until 2008 when she was needed at Minuteman Rentals, LP a partnership owned by her father, David Visser, her brother, John Visser and her husband, Richard Wiley. In 2010, Helen and Heather combined their experience to open a Tax and Accounting Service in Burnet, Texas.

Heather Hocker, Para-professional and Tax Preparer (512) 756-1000

Heather is a native of Burnet County and has lived here most of her life. She has been in the accounting industry for over 15 years, with most of those years working under a CPA. Heather lives in Burnet with her family. Along with preparing tax returns, she has a great understanding of the accounting process and can provide bookkeeping solutions for many of the situations that our clients face.

Hazel Lehman, Office Manager & Notary Republic 512-756-1000

Hazel joined the firm prior to the 2014 Tax Season as the Office Manager. Hazel's background was a medical administrative assistant for the past 20 years. Those skills have proven as a great asset to the function of our firm. Hazel lives in Burnet with her two grandchildren. Hazel is the first person you will encounter. She will direct client questions and issues to the correct team member. As a service to our clients, Hazel is also a Notary Public. You are in good hands with Hazel!

Cheryl Shipp, Tax Preparer & Accounting 512-756-1000

Cheryl joined Wiley CPA in 2016. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a Master of Education degree from SWTSU. Previously, she owned a business in San Marcos and taught for 25 years in San Marcos and Burnet CISDs, serving as SMCISD PK-12 Math Coordinator for six years. Cheryl was born and raised in Bertram and is proud to call it her home. As a tax preparer, Cheryl reviews financial records, completes all tax forms, and ensures that completed forms follow legislation and regulations.

Cordan Wiley, Accounting


Cordan oversees companies’ financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. He performs daily accounting tasks such as monthly financial reporting, general ledger entries, and record payments and adjustments.

Kimberly Shipp, Client Coordinator 512-756-1000

Though she has done part-time work for our office over the years, Kim officially joined the team in November 2020 after ten years of teaching in the area. Her previous career has given her skills in areas such as organization, communication, and technology application that are helpful to our firm. Kim has lived in Bertram most of her life and has great love for her community. She shares this love with her husband and daughter. As the client coordinator, Kim is responsible for working with clients to verify all information and keep information secure and organized. She makes sure client information is gathered and ready for the tax preparer.
